Sprott House is a not for profit, Charitable Trust Residential
Care Rest Home and Hospital providing aged care for men and
women.
Its Charitable Trust status means that all surpluses are
returned to Sprott House for continued developments, staff
education and the latest in necessary equipment.
Sprott House has been in existence since 1898, first established
in Newtown as a home for girls. We moved to Messines Road
Karori in 1900, and became a home for the elderly in 1951
offering a range of facilities and residential options. We
are certificated by the Ministry of Health and have various
contracts with the Capital and Coast District Health Board.
The buildings stand in .7538ha surrounded by established
trees and mature gardens including roses, lavender and many
other varieties of flowers as well as deciduous and evergreen
trees. It overlooks the valley with glimpses of the harbour.
Sprott House offers a warm, caring and secure environment
for residents and provides a home away from home when total
independence is no longer an option and aged care is needed.
We believe that people should remain as independent as possible
and have developed our facilities based on this philosophy.
Our excellent social and rehabilitation programmes are managed
in house by a team of caregivers and registered nurses.
