The Goose Is Getting Fat......

This is our very last newsletter of the year so I'd like to wish all families and friends as well as all our residents a very Merry Christmas and a really happy new year.

We have had a pretty busy time during 2011, consolidating all the Sprott House developments, and are looking forward to a wonderful 2012.

Our staff have been fantastic during the year, and I'd like to thank them all and wish them a happy festive season.

The Board of Trustees, who have had their last meeting for the year, would also like to pass on their Christmas wishes to all

Sprott House Christmas activities....

Christmas Carols
The Christmas carols scheduled for today (14 December) are now being held on Thursday 22 December from 6 - 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend - friends, family, residents and staff!

Christmas Party....
This is promising to be great fun. Being held on Wednesday 21 December for all residents and staff together around the Christmas tree.

School Carols
The schools will be singing carols over the next few days in different places throughout the complex, so keep an ear (and eye) out for them.

Salvation Army and Pipe Bands

We had some great times over last weekend when the Salvation Army and the Pipe Band both visited us to play Christmas carols and songs.

Despite the somewhat inclement weather, we were able to join in and enjoy!

Raffles for equipment
We are running two raffles at the moment to raise funds to purchase equipment for residents. You can purchase tickets at the main reception and in Duncan Lodge. Prizes are lots of yummy goodies - be wonderful to win for Christmas.

Villa Open Day - Saturday 14 January 10am to 3pm
We've got villas available again so are holding a Villa open day in January to give visitors an opportunity to look around the Villas, which offer independent separate living with care services available.

Visitors to our Open Day will be able to discuss the kind of care services available within the Villas if required and the facilities within the overall complex our Villa residents can take advantage of if they wish to – such as the activities programmes and intellectual pursuits.

Ministry of Health Audit
The Ministry of Health Audit took place on the 28th and 29th November as required for certification to provide aged-care services. This went very well and we're pleased with the unofficial results. Once we have had formal communication from the Ministry we will provide further information

General Election News
The electoral people were present here to help our people vote - this was a great success with a good uptake by our residents.

Keep up the liquids!
With all that gorgeous Christmas fare around, don't forget to keep up the liquids (the non-grape type!) to keep yourself hydrated. It's easy to forget, over the festive season, that you need to continue to have plenty of fluid.

Once again, a merry Christmas, a great holiday and happy new year!
